Seatwave can guarantee safety / validity for tickets in 2 ways:
- With Verified Tickets
- With Ticket Integrity
A fan who has bought tickets via Ticketmaster but isn't able to go to the event due to unforseen circumstances, can sell his or her ticket easily and safe via Seatwave, by logging in on Seatwave and submitting the barcode of the original ticket. Information like seatnumber and original ticket price will be automatically uploaded. In the advertisement on Seatwave there will be shown a "Verified Ticket” logo.
When a Verified Ticket is sold, the original barcode will be made invalid. A new ticket with a new barcode is generated and will be send to the buyer. This process insures that a ticket can't be falsified or sold multiple times. Ticketmaster Verified Tickets guarantees the buyer the purchase of a valid ticket. The newly generated ticket will also be matched to the contact details of the owner, so we can inform the new owner in case there are any changes in the event.
Tickets which aren't originally sold via Ticketmaster, can't be classified on Seatwave as Verified Tickets. Because we haven't distributed these tickets, we can't check, invalidate and or create new barcodes, since they weren't generated by our system. Ticket Integrity means the seller of the tickets won't get his or her money until after the event. Seatwave holds your money during that time. If the tickets don't give you acces to the event, the seller won't receive any money and the buyer will receive a refund. By using this method, Seatwave is not an interesting website for scammers to use.
